SMS provider waives charges to third sector

A recent article published in Third Sector magazine praises UK company, Win, for being the first text donation company to wave its commission on SMS donations sent to charitable organizations.
This is a massive step forward for SMS fundraising as around 30% of donations sent via text message is taken in charges by third-party service providers and mobile networks.
According to the firm’s chief executive, Graham Rivers, “Charities need to get the full amount without the middlemen taking a cut. We would like industry players, aggregators and mobile operators to join us and help this become a reality.”
Campaigners against the exorbitant text message fees are now expecting other SMS providers to follow suit so that SMS fundraising can finally take off within the third sector…
