Innophoria at the Waldorf Astoria

On the 11th of August at 361 Park Avenue, New York, the clock in the lobby struck midday and just a few minutes after the last gong sounded, my presentation on Innophoria began at the imposing Waldorf Astoria.
Thanks to a warm invitation from Kyla Shawyer, from Operation Smile, and Rich Fox, Chairman and CEO of Rich Fox & Associates Inc, 65 leaders from the US Direct Marketing community, participating in the 2009 Leadership Summit, stared at me with aprehension and curiosity.
And their expectations were certainly high. Keynote speaker Bernard Ross had given his presentation that morning and Dr. Bill Magee, Co-founder and CEO of Operation Smile, had recently moved us with a striking story of innovation, risk and hope.
Without further ado, I began with a classic “Hello everybody!” and 75-minutes later, the room full of comprehending smiles, thoughtful expressions, and several filled notebooks left me feeling that happy that Innophoria had launched!
