Clickatell wins MOBI award for Town Hall Without Borders

Clickatell, an innovative bulk SMS company, has won a prestigious MOBI award, which recognizes those companies involved in advancing mobile marketing and advertising with innovative compaigns.
The nomination is due to Clickatell’s recent SMS campaign for the US State Department, which sent live text messages to citizens throughout the world during Obama’s recent speeches in Ghana and Cairo. The aim of this project was to create a “Town Hall Without Borders”, giving those who would not normally have a say in such events, a unique voice.
Over 5,000 SMS questions and queries were sent in total.
“It’s amazing what organizations are doing these days with mobile phones and social media to reach people all around the world, clearly advertising and marketing is changing very quickly. We are happy to include Clickatell and its work with the US State Department in our awards showcasing this innovative use of text messaging and look forward to seeing more campaigns like this in the years to come,” said MOBI awards judge, Nick Friese
