I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Gordon Cooper at this year’s World Mobile Congress.

Gordon is Visa’s Regional Head of Mobile Innovation for Asia Pacific, Central Europe, The Middle East and Africa.

Here he discusses the current mobile innovation trends being tested in these markets, especially regarding electronic payments.

“We recognize that there is a wonderful opportunity for consumers, businesses and others to use mobile phones. There are now more than 4 billion of these devices out there.”

The most astounding feature of these location-based apps is that they also work offline and vibrate whenever the user needs to turn a corner!

I’ve just returned from a wonderful and inspirational two weeks working in the field with UNICEF Asia.

The trip took me to the local offices in India, Malaysia and Thailand, so my time was spent in Delhi, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.

I thought it would be nice to share three images from my trip which really capture the spirit of creation which we employed to confront the new digital challenges in this spicy region!
