On the day of evolutionary biologist, Charles Darwin’s 200th birthday, we at marceloiniarra.com would like to pay tribute to a man who dared to be different…and succeeded.
It was during Darwin’s five year voyage to South America, and specifically in Patagonia, where he determined that there exists no unbridgeable gap between humans and animals. And his Origin of Species, soon became a staple scientific text.
Despite suffering from prolonged illness, and coming up against criticism for his theories, Darwin continued with his experiments, research and writing, on topics as diverse as insect pollination to the evolution of society and of human mental abilities.
And it certainly paid off! Darwin’s theories and writings now form the basis off all modern biology.
